30ton Capacity started as a college band when four college mates wanted to get a decent amount of attendance from their college by participating at IIM Bangalore’s Unmaad. With a shitty jam room, zoom processors and stranger amps, they decided to perform two own compositions, and Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Guerilla Radio’ for a 15 minute set (“With soundcheck”) for their first ever show. And they won. That is how 30ton Capacity started and even considered taking things forward. The following year saw them bagging several college competitions and a coveted selection to perform at the MTV Indepedence Rock XXVII.

After a┬ábrief hiatus and a shuffle in their lineup, they released their debut EP ‘Season One, Episode Nil’ on November 2013 which was well received amongst critics and fans alike. The EP was featured on NH7, RSJ, Time Out magazine India, The Hindu & Deccan Chronicle to name a few.

2014 saw them winning the Vodafone Battle Of The Bands, performing alongside Indian Ocean & Dinosaur Pile-up, playing some of the best venues in the city and performing at the Slam festival which helped raise money for more than 300 kids at risk.
