A passion for collaboration and musical innovation led to the formation of ‘Adil & Vasundhara’ in 2009. Since then the duo have explored, challenged and widened the sound of urban Indian contemporary music. From a palette that draws from Jazz Fusion, RnB, Funk, Soul, Blues and the occasional Indian folk rhythm ‘Adil & Vasundhara’ narrate stories of Indian city life and drawing directly from their environment. Vasundhara V is arguably one of the most prolific singers in the country today, defying her generation and peers. Vasundhara is equally comfortable singing in French as she is in English, and they have travelled extensively around the globe, routinely featuring musicians from India, Turkey, France, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Argentina, Brunei, The Reunion Islands, the USA and counting.

 

Adil & Vasundhara’s first full length album ‘Ampersand’ was recorded at Yash Raj Film Studios, Mumbai and bridges the gap between independent and mainstream music sectors. Keeping with their love of collaboration, the album also features some of the top musicians from the Indian music industry like the great Louiz Banks, Ranjit Barot, Loy Mendonsa (of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy), Sanjay Divecha, Zubin Balaporia (Indus Creed), Suchet Malhotra (HFT) etc.

Engineered and mixed by Shantanu Hudlikar and mastered by Chris Athens, the album is cutting edge, to say the least.

Besides popular online and club listenership, they have played at every major music festival in the country.
