Ash Roy & Llewellyn Hilt at Summerhouse Cafe, Delhi

Ash Roy :

In his fifteen-year career has taken him to many big stages across the world. It all started in the late nineties with a stint in his Kolkata’s then mega club, Anticlock, with some legendary nights the city is still talks about. He then won the 1999 DMC World DJ Regional Finals in India and his winning streak took him overseas, to the Diamond Club in Dubai the Gulf’s biggest club, where he scored a residency. These events kickstarted his career.
2004 saw a return to India with moving to Delhi to start the next leg of his journey. He reconnected with old friends and formed the world-famous electronica band Jalebee Cartel, which gained massive popularity. Jalebee Cartel was India’s answer to raw, real underground dance music. Since its inception, Ash provided all vocal and percussive elements during their memorable live performances.
2013 saw Ash launch his own dance music record label – SoupHerb Records. Soupherb records an imprint of him and Ashvin Mani Sharma, co-founders of Jalebee Cartel. The aim of the label is to provide a platform for forward thinking and experimental music producers in the genres of Techno, Minimal, House and all the sub genres that go with it.

Llewellyn Hilt:

Intrigued by the intricate patterns and layered harmonies found in genres such as funk, jazz & rock n’ roll, Llewellyn is known for producing massively layered yet groovy (deep) house music. His music is essentially a blend of subtle chord progressions created with complex but soothing soundscapes and grooves that can make every nerve in your system shake to the tempo.

As a DJ, Lewellyn has performed at some of the leading venues in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata to name a few. His sets are a mix of experience and experimental .A master at the turntables, Lew makes sure that his sets have a fair bit of live sampling, mind boggling effects riding heavy duty sub bass and slick grooves. Owing to his undying urge to experiment, Lewellyn recently got into serious production work, for which he would spend hours inside the studio just creating new sounds.

He already has released tracks under leading labels such as Windhorse Records and Pure Substance with many more releases lined up in the future & Support.
