Mauj Maharaja (H-indie/Rock/Funk/RnB) is a Mumbai based band. The band has Tanmay on guitar and vocals, Aalok on keys and vocals, Stuart on bass and Jehangir on drums. The band performs with an extended live lineup that includes some fantastic musicians.

In March this year, the band simultaneously released a free download for the song “Rocket” on it’s Soundcloud page as well as a music video for the single “Listen Up!” with a 6 song album scheduled for release this May.

Tejas began writing music in 2007 but never played his original music live until 2011. Without any formal training he writes about people and events that shape his life with a focus on lyrics, good melody and acoustic guitar driven compositions. His influences are primarily 80s pop and contemporary artists including KT Tunstall, Sara Bareilles, Paolo Nutini, John Mayer,
Jack Johnson, Michael Buble, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, etc.

Ever since he has played at a variety of venues across India and events including the
Bandstand Revival Mumbai, ‘Live from the Console’, Ragasthan Music Festival, the Vans New
Wave Festival, NH7 Weekender Pune and Delhi, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, India Bike Week and
Mahindra Blues Festival. His music has been featured on a number of publications including
Ennui.Bomb’s Stupiditties compilation, Okay Potato’s ‘No Cover Charge’, Balcony TV Mumbai and appeared on VH1 Music Diaries. He was also nominated for the Toto Award for Music 2013 and 2015. He recently released his debut EP ‘Small Victories’ which was co-produced by Warren Mendonsa. ‘Small Victories’ is the debut EP release from singer-songwriter Tejas. In a very short span of time Tejas has been working towards establishing himself as a serious musician within the indie scene and has been playing across venues in Mumbai to a variety of crowds. His relatable lyrics and catchy melodies have slowly but surely made an impression in the scene. With this album he transitions from being primarily a solo performer to embracing a larger soundscape to realize the true potential of his music.
