Mumbai based Sky Rabbit defines their sound as electronic/alternative. The foursome formerly known as Medusa with Raxit (Vocals/Samples), Rahul (Guitar/Samples), Siddharth (Bass) and Harsh (Drums) have stumbled upon something unique, merging electronica with indie and post-punk styles.
In 2008, Sky Rabbit was selected as one of the four bands in India to be part of British Council Soundpad, where they got a chance to record two tracks with legendary producer John Leckie (Radiohead, Pink Floyd, The Verve) in Mumbai. Post which, in 2009, they performed at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton and continued their UK tour to Cardiff, Oxford, Liverpool and London.
Their debut 9-track album is a set of tightly constructed tracks that blend synthetic textures with more organic instrumentation, creating a sound that is bold, experimental and ultimately captivating and addictive. The album was also nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the GIMA Awards.
Having become a favourite after playing at some of the biggest festivals in the country such as NH7 Weekender, Live from the Console, Ziro Festival of Music, Magnetic Fields Festival, Ragasthan and India Bike Week, the band recently took home the honours for Band of the Year and Best Album at the Jack Daniels Rock Awards 2013 for their newly released EP titled Where. They also took home the award for Rock Band of the Year at VH1 Sound Nation Awards.
THE 3 STYLERS
The 3 Stylers are a very unique trio based in Mumbai. The band consists of DJ Uri (UK) on Drum Machines & Turntables, Sean Richey (USA) on Guitar & Karan Joesph (INDIA) on Keyboards. The trio’s musical styles range from Funk, Soul, Blues, Jazz & Electro Swing… keeping their sets very upbeat and strictly for the dance floor.
Recent gigs at Cafe Zoe & Tote in Mumbai & Sunday Soul Sante in Pune – The 3 Stylers have been getting rave reviews, showcasing their individual talents and skill levels. These guys are a modern twist on the regular band set up, but the sound that they bring is totally old school.
