THE KANCHAN DANIEL BAND
The Kanchan Daniel Band is a blues-rock band that is a fresh addition to the musical life in the city. This talented group of youngsters and their soulful sound has been building a buzz in the Mumbai scene since the band was formed in 2012.

Fueled by a mutual interest in blues and soul music, singer-songwriter Kanchan and keyboardist Mukesh began jamming at the studio where Mukesh works. A month later they were joined by lead guitarist, Aditya Bhide and it became clear to them that they had something worthwhile.

The band was soon joined by drummer Sahil Shah who spiced up any song with his powerful, foot stomping drum solos. The addition of Sahil, bassist Anand Kamath, rhythm guitarist Anirudh Pai has revived the feel of the blues and this combination of tasty guitar/piano solos and soulful vocals has given the band the edge that defines its unique sound.

The Kanchan Daniel band sounds like modern blues rock with power packed vocals, soulful lyrics and downright dirty blues solos. The lead singer, Kanchan is inspired by artists such as Etta James, Janis Joplin, Nina Simone and Grace Potter whereas the keyboardist is inspired by new age classical music and is influenced by musicians such as Ray Charles, Mark Villar and Volodos.

The guitarists Aditya and Anirudh are inspired by guitarists such as B.B. King, Jerry Garcia and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Sahil draws his influences from Jon Bonham, Tommy Lee, and Chuck D and bassist Anand is inspired by artists such as Bob Dylan, Buddy Guy and bands such as Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones.

The sound of the band is influenced by blues music that is as old as the 1940s as well as by bands like Led Zeppelin and electric blues guitarists such as Joe Bonamassa. Their songs are fresh and familiar with some absolutely hip shaking addictive melodies and their stage shows are full of vibrant energy.
