The Bangalore School of Music presents ‘DUO CONCERTANTE’ with Joanne D’Mello (soprano) & Andrea Fernandes (pianist) in an evening of Scintillating Song & Virtuoso Piano. An Associate of Trinity College London, singer Joanne DMello has an impressive record of performances in India and abroad. She has participated in the Britten Festival, given Lieder recitals, and sung leading roles in opera productions as well as in cantata and oratorio performances. Joanne has trained with renowned European teachers such as Matthias Goerne, Jutta Vulpius, Sarah Walker, Yvonne Minton and Graham Johnson.
Beginning her musical training at the age of 5 in Abu Dhabi, pianist Andrea Fernandes continued with lessons from Margarida Miranda, when she returned to Goa in 1998, and achieved a Distinction in the Performers Certificate in 2001. She received a scholarship from the Fundacao Oriente to study under Ana Souza Lima at the National Conservatory of Lisbon in 2003, completing her B.Mus under Jorge Moyano. In June 2011 she recorded live for Portuguese National Radio as a member of the trios Compassionato Ensemble (Flute, Cello & Piano) and Singulari (Saxophone, Cello & Piano). Andrea has studied under renowned pianists Artur Pizarro, Marta Gulyas, Malcolm Bilson & Mariaelena Fernandes, to name a few. Performing at the 100th birth anniversary of Sir Georg Solti in 2012 was a great honour.
