Erik Truffaz is one of today`s most famous European jazz trumpet player, having released 17 critically acclaimed albums with Blue Note Records and getting standing ovations worldwide. Conservatory-trained and award-winning trumpeter Erik Truffaz was initially inspired by Miles Davis`s Kind of Blue album. His albums go from straight-ahead to contemporary jazz, incorporating drum`n`bass, pop and hip-hop rhythms.

Erik Truffaz already performed in front of an enthusiastic Indian audience at Jazz Utsav in 2010, along with Talvin Singh and Murcof. He`s now coming back to India with his own legendary line-up, who`s been touring together worldwide for more than 10 years.

The opening act is Plaistow. The music by the Swiss band Plaistow is often dubbed `post jazz`. Plaistow in fact often defies genre definitions and could be anything from minimalism to improvisation. The classical trio line-up -piano, bass, drums- is revisited from top to bottom free from any stylistic constraint. The band`s music which is entirely acoustic is constantly evolving.
