PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS presents an evening full of Contemporary, Bollywood, Electronics, Folk with Lucky Ali, Anusha Mani, Basanti aur Woah and Manish Raisinghan.
Lucky Ali born as Maqsood Mahmood Ali is an Indian singer songwriter, composer and actor. Lucky is best known for his soulful but strikingly simple ballad – style singing and melodious voice. He is the son of the popular Bollywood comedian, Mehmood.
He sang his first song for his father Mehmoods film Dushman Duniya Ka.
He is best known for his music, singing and acting.
Lucky made his debut on the Indian music scene with the soulful album Sunoh which established him as a singer. This album won many of the top awards in Indian music, including the Best Pop Male Vocalist at the 1996 Screen Awards and the Channel V Viewers Choice Award in 1997. It stayed on the MTV Asia Charts in the top three for 60 weeks. The song O Sanam from Sunoh, launched his career and is considered by some to be one of the best indi-pop songs ever. Some of his successful albums are Sifar, Aks and Kabhi Aisa Lagta Hai. He is also known for contributing the song Anjaani Raahon Mein to the album “Meri Jaan Hindustan” which commemorated 50 years of Indian independence in the year 1997.
Lucky Ali started his playback singing career with the song Walking All Alone” from the film Ek Baap Chhe Bete in 1978. His second song was “Nasha Nasha” from the film Dushman Duniya Ka. He has worked with composers like A.R Rahman, Vishal Bhardwaj, Vishal Shekhar, Mike McCleary, Prashanth Nair, Rajiv Bhalla, etc.
Anusha Mani is an Indian female playback singer who works actively in Bollywood film Industry.
Anusha hails from a musically-inclined family, and learnt Carnatic music from Smt Meera Nathan. Having sung in Gujarati plays also.
Her big break came in 2007, with the track Dhoka from Johnny Gaddaar. She had also sung and written the track Dil Mein Jaagi from the Dev.D which won Amit Trivedi the National Film Award for Best Music Direction.
She has also sung for Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic, Sikandar, Hum Tum aur Ghost, Tere Bin Laden, Aisha, Game, Don2 and Chennai Express.
Basanti aur Woah are an Electronic Folk Act, based in Delhi with Azhar Anwar on Guitars and production and Mahima Dayal on Vocals. They use poetry by writers and musicians like, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Ghalib, Shubha Mudghal, Iqbal Bano and give it a contemporary appeal.
Manish Raisinghan is an Indian television actor and model, having risen to popularity portraying Sameer in the television show Teen Bahuraniyaan. He is famous as Siddhant Bharadwaj in Sasural Simar Ka, Colors TV. He also had a friendly appearance as a film star in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine.
He will be emceeing the fundraiser.
Lucky Ali, Anusha Mani, Basanti aur Woah and Manish Raisinghan are helping PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS raising funds for animal welfare. PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS is the Indias largest organization working for the welfare of animals. With 36 Hospitals-cum-Shelter and over 200 Units all over India PFA aims for more. PFAs goal is to make Shelter-cum-Hospital in each District.
