Sursagar, in collaboration with the Alliance Française de Bangalore presents an evening with Pt. Ganapati
Bhat (Hindustani Classical Vocal) and Ganakalabhushana Vid. RK Padmanabha (Carnatic Classical Vocal)
to discover Yaman and Kalyani, Malkauns and Hindola.

Pt Ganapati Bhat: Trained under Pt Basavaraj Rajguru and Pt CR Vyas, Pt Bhat’s deep sonorous voice has a capturing melody surcharged with emotion. His voice flows in surge of uninhibited vigor. His presentations of ragas show his thorough grounding in Khayal Technique. A former member of the Karnataka Sangeet Nritya Academy, Pt Bhat has been the recipient of various national and international awards. He will be accompanied by Pt. Rajendra Nakod (Tabla) and Dr Ravindra Katoti (Harmonium).

Vid. RK Padmanabha: Recipient of several awards Vid. RK Padmanabha had his early music tutelage under Vid. Nanjunda Swamy at Mysore and also under Vid. Seetharamashastry.He later joined Vijaya College of Music in Bangalore and sought higher guidance under Prof. H.V. Krishnamurthy. His music is
characterized by discipline, tradition and strict adherence to shruthi. He presents every item, may it be a simple devotional piece or a rather complex Raga Taana Pallavi with a chaste and lucid delineation that appeals to all Sections of the audience. He will be accompanied by Vidwan C Chelluvaraju (Mridanga) and
Vidwan CN Chandrashekar (Violin).
