The Handpicked Night is a gig meant to promote new and exciting talent in the capital.
For their first instalment they have three artists being featured.
1) Dhruv Visvanath
Dhruv Visvanath is best known for his technique of spanking the guitar, or at least that is what the people around him like to say. As a solo percussive acoustic guitarist, Dhruv has ushered in a new genre of music in to the Sub-Continent with his flamboyant style and is now one of the most talented youths in the music scene in India. With the ability to sing, play and drum all at once, being a one man band isn’t easy but rest assured, his playing style is unique and thus is a title well earned.
2)Kannu Paliwal
Kannu Paliwal is a singer/songwriter based in Delhi. With a wide and impressive vocal range, she easily encapsulates her audience wherever she goes. She idolizes the likes of Christina Aguilera, Jason Mraz, Amy Lee and Marketa Irglova. Her own musical style is based on the indie/alternate rock genres. You definitely want to check her out performing live on stage.
3)Delusion
Delusion is a Gurgaon-based band that was formed in 2012 when its members began jamming as part of their school music society. Their music is very Experimental and ranges from Psychedelic rock to Funk. They have performed live at Zorba, at a charity gig for the Indian Cancer Society called Reclaim Your Turf which included artists like Mrigya, Jalebi Cartel, Mob Marley Inc. and many more. They recently opened for the folk rock band Avi & the uprising at Café 39 in Hauz Khas and much more.
