The FLUX 3rd edition (as you undoubtedly have already heard) is going to see us get our swagger on with Hip-Hop on the 11th of April. While the musical curation has been perfectly tailored to fit the theme–what with some of Mumbais Hip-Hop regulars behind the decks such as DJ Reji & Dj Sa while curator extraordinaire Dj Ishani will set about warming up the dancefloorthe night will also see other vibrant facets of Hip-Hop culture being brought to life. Youll just have to turn up to see what we have in store.

Dj Sa: DJ SA is India’s premier Hip Hop/Trap DJ, voted India’s best Hip-Hop DJ at the inaugral VH1 MyFav Awards in the past, Sa has taken Hip-Hop music to a whole new level in the country.
Having a key role in promoting Hip Hop/Trap music, Dj Sa can be seen performing regularly at clubs all around the country. 2013 saw Dj SA playing the NH7 Weekender, Pune with rave reviews. Furthermore appearances at the NH7 Shakedown parties as well as his own signature night “Fresh” saw him crate digging into his roots to get Hip Hop the attention it deserves.
Opening for the likes of Akon,Charmillionaire, KardinalOfishall, Sean Kingston, SnoopDogg (Lion), MIMS and DJ Green Lantern resulting in collaboration with Universal Music to promote all their hip hop albums across India in the past. More recently opening for “DJ Mick” at VH1’s signature event “Hip Hop Hustle” as well as providing support to bass music kingpin “Flux Pavilion” further cements his status as a key player in Indian club culture.

Reji: Reji Ravindran has a musical experience, which has spanned for nearly 15 years now.
There has been no stopping for this multifaceted wizard as he is currently one of the most prolific names in Mumbai’s booming alternative & electronic music scene. For the longest time in his career, Reji has been recognized as an educator within the music fraternity.
Reji was also the first ever turntablist and the brains behind India’s earliest hip hop collective called “itch”. In December 2008, world-renowned travel magazine, Time Out Mumbai, mentioned him as one of Mumbai’s most influential DJs” in its cover story.
Behind the decks, Reji has always kept an emphasis on quality music with longer shelf life (sans short term crass commercial appeal). He is popularly known for blending within a wide spectrum of eclectic beats & breaks, without being bound by tempos, genres & styles. This also helped him clinch regular residencies at famous Mumbai nightspots such as Zenzi & Bonobo.

Dj Ishani: She’s one of the first and amongst a handful of “female” Hip Hop DJs in India. Her style is typically old school mixed with new school, alternative and underground. She started her foray in DJing in the year 2005 when she worked as In-House at Purple Haze Lounge in Mumbai and she has also been a resident (since 2008) at the hippest nightlife joints in the city at the time, Zenzi (Bandra) and Zenzi Mills.
She’s had the privilege of opening for international acts such as RnB superstar Justin Timberlake’s official DJ- Mark Da Spot; DJ Doc- The official DJ to Kardinal Offishall and Konvict Musik; Camouflage, Official to Raekwon, Wu Tang Klan as well as DJ Power A.K.A The Soul Controller- the official DJ to Reggae sensation Junior Reid.
She has also had the privilege of playing in and out of the country including El Rancho’s (Dubai, U.A.E), Mumbai (Blue Frog, Zenzi, Zenzi Mills, Twist, Marimba, Enigma, I-Bar, Rock Bottom), Hyderabad (Club Rain, Bottles and Chimney, F-Bar, Spoil, H-Lounge), Pune (Loop Lounge, 1 Lounge, Squeeze, Shock), Chennai (Dublin, Pasha, Havana, Escape), Delhi (Fluid), Kolkata (Shimmers, Basement), Bangalore (Geoffreys) and also in Nagpur, Surat and Lucknow amd Shillong.
She has been playing Hip Hop and R&B for half a decade now and has gained popularity for choosing and playing quality hip hop and R&B music as opposed to only the Top 10 countdown charts though she still loves getting down to the commercial/mainstream Hip Hop scene just as much.
She’s open to experimenting with different sounds and styles with- in the genre as she believes there is great potential in terms of growth as a DJ/artist in going beyond the musical comfort zones we tend to get ourselves accustomed to at times.
