The name of a restaurant in a Tarantino movie, a handful of dreamy youngsters and an irresistible urge for original music, led to the formation of Jack Rabbit. This is music that transverses language barriers, these are the sounds of the modern Indian society. Influences are as diverse as the 70s experimental music, European Classical, Blues, Alternative, Hindustani Classical, Rabindra Sangeet, Folk and Jazz. The amalgamation of these sounds lead to the music of the Jack Rabbit. Soulful melodies & thought provoking lyrics helps the band to communicate to a variety of people.The songs of the band are in circulation in Kolkata as well as West Bengal. The band’s first album, “Ananya” released by SaReGaMa in January, 2010 is currently selling in
both physical media across stores as well as non-physical media, i.e, the internet. The songs and videos are regularly aired in Radio and TV channels in Kolkata.
The Band has recently worked in a feature film based on Sunil Gangopadhyay’s “Neel-lohit” which is due for release in December, .
Other than the above, the band has composed music for short films, animation films, documentary and ad films for Directors like Pratim D Gupta, organizations like British Council and the Central Government.Although, apart from those, we also cover some classics of Moheener Ghoraguli, Sachin Dev Burman, Rabindranath Tagore.
