Junkyard Groove was formed in the year 2005 and have become a main stay in the Indian Independent music scene. A band that has seen every high and low of being in a band, from being signed to an international label, opening for some of the biggest bands in the world like Iron maiden, Incubus, Prodigy, Robert Plant and more, to being dropped from their label, and going through line up changes.

Their first album 11:11 was a huge success garnering a big fan base and winning quite a few awards. Their song “its Ok” has become a part of play lists on every English radio station in India. Junkyard Groove was one of the first bands to take advantage of social media and viral marketing in India.

The current line-up comprises of front man and founder of the band Ameeth Thomas on vocals and acoustic guitar, Joshua Mark Raj on guitars, Sajith Satya the bass prodigy from Chennai belonging to the Satya clan and Shashank Vijay a drummer that makes a four piece band sound like 5. After three years since they released their first album, they have released their second album Accidental Hero. The album features eight tracks.

The first single released from the album was In Your Eyes. Each song has a story and every story has its storyteller, one can expect an mélange of stories. “The album is my first new step out of my old life. It’s a journey about my life, my music, the band and people that come and go. Accidental Hero is the reflection of the present. Music is an emotion for me. Every song was written at different times. This is not a theme album like a lot of artistes do. For me, its just storytelling. It’s like reading a book to a kid,” – Ameeth Thomas.
