Lagori live at Hard Rock Cafe, Bangalore

Lagori get their name from the popular street game of the same name. They make music that reflects the face of the modern Indian youth.This Bangalore-based band combines Indian classical melodies and inflections with rock music, resulting in an interesting mix that is catchy, soulful and high-energy at the same time. The band is fascinated with the rich diversity of culture that exists in the country, especially the evolving definition of what it means to be ‘Indian’.Having grown up in the cosmopolitan city of Bangalore (the melting pot of cultures, ideas, languages and beliefs), Lagori’s music reflects the varied influences of each band member, culminating in a unique, fresh and honest sound. In a short time, their music has won them a growing and passionate fan base, both online and offline.

The band has recently released their debut album that is now available digitally worldwide and the CDs that are available in all music stores. They have been signed on by Times Music. Their live act is an energetic performance, which includes material from their first album, sung in Hindi and Kannada and interesting covers and mash-ups of music they are influenced by. Lagori recently created history by being the first band to ever shoot a video on the bustling Brigade Road at peak hour. It was shot right in the centre of the road, attracting huge crowds and literally causing the traffic to come to a standstill!
