Ustad Aashish Khan, is a 3rd generation stalwart from the lineage of musicians of the Maihar-Seniya gharana.  He is the son of legendary Padma Vibhushan Ali Akbar Khan and the grandson of Padma Vibhushan Baba Allauddin Khan. He carries on his shoulders the responsibility for the vast musical heritage that he is part of. And he leads by the fingers the younger generation of this venerable gharana with Shanti, the Indo-Jazz group. He straddles both roles with equal ease to produce music that is immortal. And breaks barriers across generations and cultures, transcending all with the universal language of his music.
