Mental Martians

Taking the Indian bass-scene by storm and bringing a fresh new sound, seeing never before used Indian percussion with Drum&bass music to fuse together , a rich, melodic and aggressive sound that rips through sound systems.

Influenced by giants like Noisia, Spor, Optiv & BK and various heavyweights from the international D&B arena, their sound is a heady journey that showcases driving, melodic and cutting edge futuristic bass music.

Providing the live element to the band is an alcoholic Tarang Singhal, who began his musical tête-à-tête at a mere 8! and Plays the tabla, darbuka, Jembe, Bongo, Drums and other home made percussions that allow him to create a churning mayhem with the electronic deliciousness of the badman Sarvesh Shrivastava.

Their sounds are magical and danceable at same time, a vivid journey into the unknown and the un-chartered, the sublime and the scintillating, promising to introduce a sound that is enjoyed by the masses and that is anthem-like and cerebral at the same.

OX7GEN

There’s no innate skill involved in quality drum & bass production beyond a surge of all nighters and dying city lights. Mumbai based producer, OX7GEN (Aditya Ashok) gladly resided in the undertow, as a self taught producer & controller wizard with influences running deep – cue kingpins like Netsky, Danny Byrd and Logistics for the first wave; then expect a rising tide of original liquid/ambient drum & bass.

Even as the Indian bass movement shows exponential growth, this self- proclaimed drum n’ bass newbie has been pushing the boundaries tirelessly. It suffices to say the effortless skill and insatiable appetite for glitch has paid off as he’s managed to garner himself an impressive following since he began his solo project in 2011; He continually focuses on building a frenetic energy with his well-laid and crunchy beats, overlaid with melodious sonic layers.

In December 2012, Aditya released his debut EP, Any Minute Now. Comprising of 4 songs written and produced over the course of 2012, it’s fresh sound, which he describes as “an aural representation of the mind space I was in during this period” typically stays between 170 to 180 BPM.

He released his second EP ‘An Ocean for Everyone’ in May ’13 which was extremely well received by the critics across the board.

This year Aditya played his first international gig at Home Club, Singapore.

What you can expect? High-energy, delightfully fluid sets, that seamlessly takes you through every emotion associated with bass heavy music. Every one of his sets is the result of meticulous planning, organic arrangements and above all flawless execution. Every single time.

EZ Riser

Launched in Oct 2012, EZ Riser is the solo project of Sohail Arora pushing cutting edge Electronica, Glitch Hop, Electro Hip Hop, Breaks, Bass House & IDM.

As one half of Bay Beat Collective (BBC), Sohail Arora has been pushing bass music for over 4 years now. His solo project EZ Riser aims to showcase newer forms of exactly that, yet with particular focus on glitch-hop and electronica (with a touch of hip-hop). A self confessed music geek and influenced by artists such as J Dilla, Pretty Lights, Michal Menert, Mr. Bill, Freddy Todd, Koan Sound, Opiuo, Spoonbill, Heyoka, Griz & many more.

As the founder of KRUNK, India’s foremost alternative booking agency and events crew, Sohail has been responsible for touring acts such as Calyx & Teebee, Concord Dawn, Klute, London Elektricity, Koan Sound and Dub Phizix across India, whilst representing some of the freshest local sounds, including at a time, Dualist Inquiry and Reggae Rajahs with more recent additions such as BBC, Delhi Sultanate, BASSFoundation, Ox7gen and Sandunes. Sohail also runs India’s only dedicated night / festival called Bass Camp Festival.

Ultimately, it’s EZ Riser’s fidelity to the low end that ties his sound (and most probably life) together.Check out his debut mix for Wild city here :http://www.thewildcity.com/EN/music.xhtml/article/3714-wild-city-051-ez-riser
