Sharik Hasan Jazz Organ Trio evokes a tradition of blues, gospel and R&B. Three of the top jazz musicians in the country come together to bring you a set of hard swinging soul jazz that will surely entrance you with its infectious rhythms and powerful sound. Warning: One might experience an uncontrollable urge to dance and shout!

Sharik Hasan is one of the leading pianists and composers of his generation to emerge from India He spent several years studying jazz and classical music in France (Bill Evans College) and the USA (Berklee College of Music) while also working in Indian classical musical traditions.

He has performed at venues all over the world including the Blue Note (New York), Panama Jazz Festival, Nancy Jazz Festival (France), Lincoln Center (New York), and has shared the stage with luminaries such as John Pattituci, Joe Lovano, Wayne Shorter, Terri Lyne Carrington, Adam Nussbaum, Ralph Peterson, and David Liebman, among others.

Sharik Hasan currently lives and works in New York City while pursuing his master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music.

Pawan Benjamin learnt the saxophone under avant garde jazz legend, Roscoe Mitchell. His knowledge of Western harmony, and the Jazz tradition, paired with his knowledge of the music of India and Nepal, has given him a unique worldly perspective of music which he applies as a saxophonist, bansuri artist, and composer and producer. An alumnus of Manhattan School of Music (MSM) and Chandayan Centre for Indian Music, he has performed at some of the most prestigious venues around the world: Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, the Velvet Lounge (Chicago), The Blue Note, Bimhuis (Amsterdam) and the Music Gallery (Toronto) among other places.
Pawan is Course Director at the True School of Music, which endeavours to be the vanguard of providing music education of the highest caliber, helping students take the initial steps or continue their journey to higher levels in the music industry.

The Professional faculty at The True School of Music comprises Post Graduates from The Manhattan School of Music, who are trained teachers in their respective instruments. They are working music professionals in their own right, many with records and tours under their belts.

Adrian D’Souza works with New York jazz vocalist Roseanna Vitro and guitarist Chieli Minucci of Special EFX. Adrian also works with GlobalUnity and Interplay .

Through his colorful interactive style with musicians on the bandstand, he has created texture for a veritable ‘who’s who’ in the jazz world :
Art Davis, Eddie Gomez, Joe Temperly, Ken Werner, Ratzo Harris, Gary Bartz, John Hicks, Eddie Daniels, Ed Cherry, Mark Soskin, Dave Kikoski, Don Braden, Gerald Veasley, Paul Keller, Chuck Bergeron, Jerry Brooks, Ron Jackson, Bruce Arnold, Shelly Berg, Jay Rodrigues and Mike Orta.

Adrian performed with Al Jarreau, George Duke, Earl Klugh and Ravi Coltrane at the 2005 Vh1 Jazz Masters, and has had successful performances in Slovenia with the ‘Maribor Philharmonic Orchestra’ featuring Roseanna Vitro.

He was invited by the ‘World Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra and big band’ to perform in South Africa for the United Nations – World Summit on Sustainable Development. Adrian is a member of the International Association of Jazz Educators (NY).
