Ankur Tewari
Born in the cultural hub of Roorkee, Ankur dabbled in theatre and music at an early age. Right after college he took a sharp turn to the road of storytelling,focusing on songwriting in particular. It was during his college years in Bhopal that Ankur began writing the relaxed, acoustic-based songs that would later find their place in his debut album Jannat.
Emergence
Emergence has featured extensively on the Indian music scene for the past couple of years, playing in Chennai, Pondicherry, Bangalore and Mumbai. The band toured the UK in summer 2008, playing venues across the country. The tour culminated in a number of inspiring performance at Glastonbury, which led to invitations to play at major European festivals in 2009, including, Sunrise, Womad, Glastonbury and Festival de Nyon.
Hari & Sukhmani
A trained Hindustani classical vocalist from the Rampur Gharana, Sukhmani Malik has a voice dense with character, that doesnt fail to strike you as powerful. Hari Singh a prolific singer, producer and audio engineer, has unique electronic skills that grabs the listeners heart.
The two combine eclecticism with a curiously contemporary take on tradional folk songs from the land of Punjab. Their sound is a blend of folk music fused with ambient Electronica. Hari and Sukhmanis music resonates with their sincere and cultured touch.
Hari & Sukhmani have been touring nationally & internationally since December of 2008. They have received an unprecedented response and are in constant demand for Public, Private and Corporate performances across the length and breadth of India. They have toured Australia and New Zealand as well.
Hailing from Chandigarh, Hari & Sukhmani are a young and ambitous duo who plan to take Punjabi folk music from the yester-years into the future, from New Delhi to New York.
