State Of Bengal Featuring Jiver

Legendary DJ/artist State Of Bengal will drop new tracks fresh off the cut, exclusively for India. Known for his DJ mixology and live interactive break beat sets with long time music collaborators, drummers Marqe ‘Inna.most’ Gilmore and Mathis, he returns to India teaming up with a young talent – Calcutta based drummer JIVER whom he met when was he was 11 years old! A specially designed set – mixing vinyl, bass electronica and cutting in exclusive tracks with live beats and chops. This is Bass ‘n’ Drums high energy musicology.

State of Bengal
Internationally acclaimed UK based music artist Sam aka State of Bengal is regarded as one of the pioneers of the The Asian Underground music movement. A critically acclaimed artist, DJ, producer, composer, music storyteller and creative mentor, Sam’s music has travelled beyond the confines of the ‘underground’ scene, to include collaborative work with music artists such as Bjork, the late, great Ananda Shankar, Massive Attack, The Clash, and Paban Das Baul, to name a few.

State of Bengal continues to tour the globe, playing at major festivals and venues. In addition, Sam’s twenty year passion for teaching and mentoring is incorporated into his tours with specially designed workshops and music labs.

Jiver
Jivraj “Jiver” Singh is one of the hottest rising home grown talents – drummer, beat-poet, designer and producer. An alumnus of the 2011 Red Bull Music Academy, his sensibility is a sweet and toxic mix of geometry, the industrial revolution, dark humour and Africa. Whether he’s playing percussion, electro-mechanical machines, objects, software, or he’s dropped into a situation with nothing at all, Jivraj sounds unique.

Support Act: BBC

The Mumbai-based BBC (Bay Beat Collective) comprising of Kris Correya and Sohail Arora was formed in late 2008 in response to the abundance of standard-issue electronica so often churned out in clubs and bars across the country.

Influenced by bass music artists across the board, BBC explores new aural territory, dabbling in styles ranging from drum n bass to dubstep, with a partiality to “phat” basslines and high voltage grooves that are infectious, delicious & supremely funky.

BBC have toured with some of the biggest international names in the electronic and bass music circuit including artists like The Prodigy, LTJ Bukem, Alix Perez, Koan Sound, Klute, Dub Phizix, Nymfo, Concord Dawn, DJ Marky, Jazzsteppa, Asian Dub Foundation, Ant TC1, Brother Culture, Dub FX & Pendulum.
