Shark & Ink is a double-jointed project–part passion, part business but entirely flexible. On either side of it lie two rather curious personalities, coming together as one powerful catalyst for the city’s nightlife. Shark knows how to get things done, how to tear into the flesh of a project, taking only what’s good. Ink, on the other hand, knows how to inject colour into the veins of that same flesh. Together, they have an answer for all your musical maladies ranging from curation, building sustainable properties or formats, music programming, artist bookings and promotional marketing for gigs and events.
Folic State
All passion starts young, and so it was for Karan Desai [Folic State] audio engineer, producer and DJ- born and raised in Mumbai, India.
By the age of 15, Karan was the resident DJ at his friends parties, and what started as a hobby soon evolved into a lifestyle. In 2000, Karan extended his repertoire to psytrance, being encapsulated by its immense influence and power. Karan began collecting trance tracks, imbibing from them the true notion of what it means to put sounds together. What began as hard, foot stomping mania transformed by 2006 into the fluid rhythm of house, and its sister-genres like deep, tech house, techno and the likes.
With years of experience under his belt, Folic State is now embarking on a solo career, seeking to develop a sound that lies on the threshold of mainstream and commercial, never fitting into a single mold.
