Whirling Kalapas is an acoustic-based trio created by Mahesh Tinaikar and Uday Benegal (from
the rock band Indus Creed) and multi-instrumentalist Sankarshan Kini. The trios music can be
described variously as neo-folk, alt-country, mellow-and often funky-acoustic rock. The bands
vocally and instrumentally lush sound has been garnering much praise from audiences across the
country, including at their recent performance headlining Lou Majaws renowned Bob Dylan birthday celebrations in Shillong.
