The Supersonics crashed the Calcutta music scene with a high voltage performance at a crowded little bar called Someplace Else. Formed in 2006, their songwriting has already earned them a cult status. Geared with a toothpaste fresh sound and an electrifying stage presence, it would be wrong to call The Supersonics a band. They are a shiny new revolution.

Their sound is not pigeonholed to any one genre. The band has a huge, loyal and steadily increasing fan base. They write songs that are as addictive as nicotine. The band has the crowd singing along with them on practically every one of their original songs. Their debut album, Maby Baking released by HMV Saregama, was a massive success garnering rave reviews from all media. Work has started on the second album and the band is as excited as they were when they formed initially to make music.

The Dirty, Rotten, Supersonics and Ananda Sen Half Bengali, half proletariat. Singer, songwriter and guitarist for the band. You might have also spotted him hatching anarchist plots with international and local artistes, as well as masterminding theatrical scores.

Rohan Ganguli Has the soul of a blind blues guitarist in a jar on his desk. By day you’ll find him lurking in the shadows, a bored young gentleman your mother will hate. Accidental vocalist and a mean songwriter.

Nitin Mani Mister Mani has been a practicing the bass since the last century, literally. Don’t get fooled by this unassuming Malyali gentleman. This man is a powerhouse of groove with a deep understanding and respect for his craft.

Avinash Chordia A super-talented, juvenile delinquent on drums. A known face in the Calcutta music scene, there is nothing he likes more than to beat the living daylights out of the drums. His or anyone else’s…
