House music , after enjoying significant underground and club-based success in Chicago from
the early 1980s onwards, emerged into the UK mainstream pop market in the mid-tolate 80s. Popularity quickly followed in the rest of Europe, and it became a global
phenomenon from the early-to-mid 90s onwards. It proved to be a commercially
successful genre and a more mainstream pop-based variation grew increasingly popular.
Today, house music remains popular in both clubs and in the mainstream pop scene
while retaining a strong foothold on underground scenes across the globe.
To say that Nikhil Chinapa has donned many an avatar during his career, is like saying it
snows in Alaska; a bit of an understatement. He morphs from DJ to VJ to MC to Music
Promoter to Festival Director some of his best known avatars with amazing fluidity.
Pearls love affair with the dance floor began almost a decade ago from the time she was
an indefatigable clubber, traveling across the globe, forever in search of new sounds and
that perfect clubbing experience. In a country where house music was virtually nonexistent, Pearl insisted on playing her sound and helped establish this style of music in a
nascent scene which has now developed into a thriving one across the country.
