Two Parallel Streaks is an acoustic duo project consisting of Singer/Songwriter Tania Chourasia and Composer/Songwriter Omkar Potdar.
The idea behind the acoustic project is to put forward simple yet soulful music that everyone can relate to.
Tania Chourasia is a trained Indian classical singer and has been learning the art since the age of 6. The classical background did not keep her away from trying to push her boundaries. Her love for experimentation in other musical genres like blues, rock, pop, etc. has led her to be successful in creating her own vocal style at a very early age. She is deeply inspired by the works of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Shubha Mudgal, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, etc. Tania is also associated with a blues/fusion project Groove Sauce from Goa.
Omkar Potdar is a guitarist, composer and songwriter. He has been a part of Pune music scene since the past few years. Omi is a bass guitarist of the Blues/Rock outfit Studmuffin and also plays with The Raushan Verma Scheme. He loves to collaborate with different artists and to move into various musical situations. His musical inspirations are John Mayer, Dave Grohl, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, etc. and his songwriting is based on simple human emotions reflecting day to day experiences.
Their set of original music is accompanied by a few select covers and intertwined with stories and humor. But it is the songs that are the heart of the performance. Delivered with warmth and sincerity, it is their hope that each listener comes away with a feeling of inspiration.
