The roots of Underground Authority were strengthened when two massively popular live acts, !Banned and Skydive collaborated in 2010 to ensure that the local scene got a taste of an amalgamation of genres, protest poetry, rap and old school influences packaged in a fresh avatar.
The idea behind UA was always to attract music lovers of all possible genres and open up sounds to new audience. Their journey has been on a constant high ever since.
On the way to spreading their genre of protest poetry, they participated in and captured the heart of the nation on the second season of Indias Got Talent. They so impressed the celebrities present (Salman Khan, Sonali Bendre…) that they were asked to collaborate on songs from the Bollywood blockbuster Dabbang.
They have re-worked songs from A.R Rahmans catalog giving them a contemporary twist, adding those to their repertoire of live tracks; and also showing new avenues that protest poetry and rap can explore, making fans of people who never thought of rock music as lyrical concepts.
They are winners of The Hornbill International Rock Contest 2013 for best Vocalist, Drummer & Bassist.
