An evening of contemporary independent folk and rock music, both acoustic and electric, performed in Kannada, Hindi and English. The show will feature two sets; by Peepal Tree and Vasu Dixit (Swarathma) Collective, respectively. The first set will be acoustic, earthy urban folk music by Vasu Dixit Collective followed by Peepal Tree which is an indie rock band that plays infectious grooves, sung in Indian languages. The performers are among the cream of Bangalore’s music scene and the evening promises to be high on entertainment.
Four of Bangalore’s most seasoned and talented musicians ( from Raghu Dixit Project, Sandeep Chowta productions, Bhoomi and more), come together with their brand new project Peepal Tree. Their music can be described as Indian melodies sitting on funk grooves with subtle overtones of electronica, and sung in Kannada, English & Hindi . This combination of elements makes for a very interesting new sound. Each musician in the band brings a wealth of experience to this new project, having been part of some of the most successful bands from India. Peepal Tree has collectively played more than 1500 concerts globally, in their other projects, and has been a part of the Hindi and Kannada movie industries.
Fresh off the stage at the NH7 weekender and October Fest to widespread acclaim , they are back to play at one of their most favourite venues, The Bflat Bar on the 27th of February, 2015
