Padmashree Vidhushi Smt. Sumitra Guha has mastered Carnatic Music under the tutelage of acclaimed maestros S. R. Janakiraman (Sangeetha Vidwan) and Hindustani Classical music under Pt. A. Kanan and Vidushi Malobika Kanan. Some of her notable performances in India and abroad are Kumar Gandharva Bhakti Sangeet Samaroh (Delhi), Tansen Samaroh (Gwalior), Musee Guimet (France), Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (UK), Kennedy Center (Washington DC) and Harbourfront International Music Festival (Toronto). A top grade artiste of A.I.R., Sumitraji is a several time recipient of Gold Medals and awardee of Sangeet Kala Ratna, Rashtrabhushan Samman, Padmashree, Naadbrahm Shiromani, Sangeet Sree Award, Outstanding Artist of ICCR. Founder of Sumadhur Hansadhwani School of Music where music is imparted in Guru Shishya Parampara style.
