Wanted Yesterday is a band formed by seasoned admen: Rajeev Raja and Subhash Kamath.The name comes from a cliché describing the often-unreasonable deadlines in the ad world i.e This is wanted yesterday!! Since the band plays a lot of music from the 60s and 70s, the name also serves as a cheeky descriptor to the kind of music they revel in.
Wanted Yesterday plays a lot of covers: Of famous songs by J.J. Cale, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, The Allman Brothers as well as a variety of classic blues and rock numbers. But theyre not the usual tribute band.
They bring a unique interpretation of these songs and play them in their own way. The use of the jazz flute, for example, changes completely the way these famous songs are re- interpreted, thereby creating a new sound.Soon, the band also plans to introduce their own compositions in true retro style.
Given the fact that live music is drawing more and more crowds in the country and many different musical genres are gaining popularity among the youth, Wanted Yesterday believes Its time to bring back the golden era of music for a whole new audience.
