Bangalore Open Air Returns

Share

After two successful editions, Bangalore’s biggest metal fest returns! Bangalore Open Air is set to take the city by storm on the 13th of September, 2014 at Counterculture. In a bid to keep metal alive in India, BOA brings some of the best metal bands together to spread happiness among ardent metalheads.

BOA 2012 and 2013 saw bands like Kreator, Iced Earth, Dark Tranquility and Demonic Resurrection taking the stage. Founder, Salman Syed, says this year will see bands from Germany, Italy and Greece along with a few Indian bands. “The highlight of this edition is the fact that the festival is funded by the people. Without the crowd we wouldn’t be able to set up the fest. It’s all thanks to the people!” he informed WTS.  Gear up, metalheads! The wait is almost over.

Demonic Resurrection to release new album

Share

Mumbai-based Demonic Resurrection have announced the release of their fourth full-length album titled ‘The Demon King‘. The album is due for release worldwide on Candlelight Records and on Universal Music in India.

“We have always played around with unnamed forces of darkness in the past.

With this release, we felt the need for an evil overlord to take the reigns and bring in the apocalypse. A savage and unstoppable force such as this had to be a definitive and commanding figure, which is why we came up with The Demon King.” said Mephisto (Keyboards) explaining the album title.

Demonstealer further commented “This album has been four years in the making and we’re more than excited to release it. We’re also extremely happy to renew our deal with Candlelight Records who will put out the album worldwide and also our new relationship with Universal Music who will release the album in India.”

The band’s last album ‘The Return To Darkness’ was released in 2010 on Candlelight Records worldwide and Demonstealer Records in India.

Release dates:

India: 13th July

UK & Europe: 14th July

USA: 15th July

Demonic Resurrection Announced For Wacken Open Air 2014

Share

Mumbai-based death metal band Demonic Resurrection have just been announced to play at Wacken Open Air 2014. WOA is one of the worlds biggest metal festivals with almost 80,000 attendees in the small village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.

DR has previously performed at the Inferno Metal Festival and Brutal Assault in 2010. Formed in the year 2000, DR has stood strong for 14 years with very few lineup changes and have released an EP followed by three studio albums in this period, in addition to their amazing repertoire of live performances. They have also bagged the Metal Hammer Golden God Award for Global Metal in 2010.

The official Wacken announcement reads “From India comes the blackened death metal band Demonic Resurrection. The band was founded in 2000 and has already released three dark studio albums and an EP next to their extensive live experience. They will rock Wacken for the first time!”

When asked about how it feels to be one of the bands set to perform at the WOA, frontman Demonstealer says “It’s very hard to put into words exactly how it feels. For us it’s still just a small step forward but when you’ve been busting your ass for 14 years it definitely feels like a big deal, given that it is the coveted Wacken Open Air, the festival most metal heads dream about playing or attending. It’s definitely going to be a religious experience and we’re going to deliver a kick-ass performance. It feels good to see that our hard work and perseverance is paying off.”

Demonic Resurrection will be playing alongside the biggest metal acts in the world at WOA 2014 which include Behemoth, Saxon, Kreator, Emperor, King Diamond and Motorhead among others. The band is also set to release a new album sometime this year on Candlelight Records worldwide and on Universal Music in India.
