Mamagoto celebrates music with Kris Correya

Versatile enough to seam sets at an afterhour’s garage party, a high end bar, festival stages or creating backup soundscapes for a live act, Kris Correya is also regularly cited by music critics and peers as one of the most influential players on Mumbai’s electronic music scene.

He has largely been credited for his contributions in developing the musical and artist promotional identity of the iconic Zenzi brand, with which he was involved from its inception in 2003 till 2010.
In August 2009 he appeared for an interview and dj set on BBC Asia network in their London studios where he was featured as one of Mumbai’s biggest promoters and Dj’s for electronic music.
He has been part of the line ups for the last five “Sunburn” festivals held annually in Goa, the first one in Mumbai in 2012 & also the “NH7” festivals in 2010, 2011 & 2013.

In 2009 he co founded Bay Beat Collective (BBC) to explore the alternative side of his musical sensibilities. Since then the BBC has gone on to win opinion polls, opened for super international acts like Prodigy, Pendulum, Ltj Bukem to name a few, holds massive nights in various venues in India & touring UK, Germany, France, Holland, Croatia & Czech Republic.

The BBC plays to packed houses all over now & is now one of India’s premier “Bass Music” acts.
In 2013 along with a couple of like minded colleagues he co founded District Fifty a music label specializing in House/Techno music & positioned as an international platform for ambitious & talented Indian Dj/Producers to showcase their skills through promotional nights & releases.
The District Fifty’s first compilation is under production and is set to roll out by Mid October.
