Blues Conscience – The “Down and Dirty” Album launch at BFlat, Bangalore

Quick to recognize the dearth of blues in the live music scene in their hometown of Chennai, this band began its journey with the intent of re discovering and reintroducing the Blues as a genre, to today’s rock and metal dominated Indian music lovers. Together they formed a power quintet of excellent musicians in the year 2008, including Dutch saxophonist, Maarten Visser. Blues Conscience has been lauded for their refreshingly original style and cheeky lyrical works with songs like Kamasutra, Shaggin’ Ma Dog, and Obama, receiving high praise from music aficionados, the press, and laymen alike. Blues Conscience brings to the audience entertaining and interactive live performances, which are combined with a slick act, replete with their attire (suits, hats and fedoras) that retain the true essence of the Blues.

They also perform covers by blues legends such as B.B.King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, just to name a few!

The band has just released their debut album, titled “Down and Dirty”, which features 14 original songs featuring many collaborations with great musicians. The album comprises re-hashed songs from the first E.P and many new ones guaranteed to take your blues away.
