Derek Julien Live at Art Escape, Goa

India’s Guitar Legend Derek Julien Live will be jamming up with ‘Smoking Chutney’ onstage to make it special, hope to see you all at this one! Has been a professional guitarist since 1967. Has performed in music genres such as rock, jazz, blues, fusion, pop… (in short ‘whatever it takes’) to get the job done. Started at the age of 17, playing all over India, with what was a very popular band in its day, the Mystiks. Like many others did the nightclubs, discos, college circuits. In ’71 became part of the legendary progressive rock band ‘Waterfront’. Undoubtedly the experience that is most memorable on every possible count. During this spell joined up with yet another progressive Bombay band, ‘Azure Hades’. This association was again a great music experience like Waterfront, the difference being that while Waterfront was vocally and instrumentally oriented Azure Hades was undilutedly instrumental. Did about ten years with singer Gary Lawyer while all these other activities were going on. Still very busy with performances of all kinds but thoroughly enjoying the smaller, more intimate venues, where audience rapport can make the difference between a good gig and a great one.
