DnA Machines
DnA Machines is the brainchild of a Kolkata based avante-garde duo comprising of Debjit Mahalanobis & Agnitray Chakraborty, which took a musical shape eventually in November, 2015 as they shared their common love for heavy percussions and groovy bass lines. The music revolves around deftly crafted beats, big bassdrops and spacious soundscapes of dub. It is all live and loads of real instruments with electronics of course. The inspiration list is quite varied from genres like ‘dance and electronica’, and ‘classical’ to artists and bands like Zakir Hussain, Trilok Gurtu, Les Claypool, Edger Meyer, Victor Wooten, Snarky puppy, Asian Dub Foundation, and Dream Koala. Their innovative take on live performances where they infuse worldly elements with high voltage grooves and put it in loop to produce cranking phat electronic beats with percussive magic which is surely an inspiration for celebration.
Wriddh
He has been in the music circuit of Kolkata/Chennai/ Mumbai since the year 2005 with core rock group Kryptic(English). However, gradually he started playing with ensembles and solo, just with an acoustic guitar and at times, minus one tracks. He recently played with The Journo Trio in Chennai and Wriddh & The Crotchet Family in Mumbai.
