Fresh Back From His European Tour, DJ Uri Comes Back To India With Lots Of New Sounds And A New Attitude. The Last 12 Months Have Seen Him Opening For Artists Such As Pretty Lights, Diplo, Major Lazer, Ed Sheeran, Benga & Skream, Dub Phizix & Foreign Beggars.
With A Career Spanning Over 4 Decades, DJ Uri Has Been True To The Hip-Hop Movement. Born In East London In 1974, His Journey Has Been In Full Flow Since 1982. Influenced By The Street Sounds Compilations And The Break Dance Era, Uri Has Had A Solid Upbringing Being Exposed To Underground Music From An Early Age.
Getting His First Turntables Aged 13 He Began To DJ For Hip-Hop Crew The Uptown Posse, And By The Age Of 15 Uri Was Performing To Crowds Playing Hip-Hop, Disco, Funk And Soul. 25 Years On He Has The Same Desire And Continues Dropping The Freshest And Funkiest Music With Regular Gigs Across The UK, Europe And India.
The Depth Of His Collection And Knowledge He Has Gained Over The Years Are A Credit To Hip-Hop Culture. He Lives And Breathes The Real Essence Of The Old Skool DJ And His Pledge To Only Play On Vinyl Decks Stays Loyal To The Art Of Turntablism.
Robin Van Rhijn (DRUMS)
Ever since Robin van Rhijn played on the North Sea Jazz festival at the age of 16, he started performing with great musicians from The Netherlands. At the age of 18 he got accepted to the Conservatory of Rotterdam. He studied drums with Hans van Oosterhout, Joost Patocka and composition from Kris Goessens. In this period Robin explored a lot of different music genres.
After finishing his bachelors cum laude, he got a chance to do EUJAM (European Master). Robin studied in Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen. This Masters course allowed him to play with a lot of musicians in Europe. He studied composition and drums with John Hollenbeck, Martijn Vink and Kresten Osgood.
Over the years Robin received a number of awards. He won the Princess Christina Concours with the Semey group and Leidse Jazz Award with the Thomas Maasz trio.
In 2014 he graduated cum laude and moved to Amsterdam where he is currently living and playing with many musicians from all over the world. Robin is currently working on his own project Robin Adrian which will be recorded in September 2015.
Eran Har Even (GUITAR)
Eran Har Even (born on April 22nd, 1983) is an Israeli guitarist, composer and music teacher currently residing in Amsterdam. Since his arrival in the Netherlands in 2006, Eran has established himself as a leading figure in the Dutch Jazz scene recording and performing with some of the finest Jazz musicians on the local and international circuits. These include the likes of Benny Golson, Terell Staford, Jasper Blom, Harmen Fraanje, Susanne Alt, Joris Roelofs, Martijn Van Iterson, The Le Bouef Brothers, and Jamal Thomas, to name just a few.
One of Erans most exciting and important current ventures sees him taking centre stage as bandleader, composer, and arranger for the Eran Har Even Trio, featuring pianist Harmen Fraanje, drummer Jamie Peet, bassist Tobias Nijboer, and Itai Weissman on tenor sax/EWI. After the successful release of their first EP, Laws of Gravity, the Trio will be releasing their first full album in 2015.
Having first picked up a guitar at ten years old, Eran went on to study at the legendary Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts in his native country. Upon graduation, Eran was awarded the America-Israel Foundation prize, affording him the fantastic opportunity to hone his abilities in New York City for the following nine months. From the age of eighteen to twenty-one years old, Eran served in the Israeli Military as a Top Musician; playing and arranging for the Jazz ensemble of the Culture and Education Corps.
Following his receipt of a Bachelor degree from the prestigious Conservatory of Amsterdam, Eran completed a Master degree in Jazz guitar in 2012, and is now teaching solfege at the same establishment thereby training the next generation of aspiring Jazz musicians. Alongside his teaching and performance, Eran is also dedicating his time to research: he is currently authoring a book about the application of polyphony on guitar which is due to come out in the new year it will be the first extensive book written on this method.
