Hidden Orchestra: Hidden Orchestra is a musical collective from Edinburgh, led by multi-instrumentalist composer/producer Joe Acheson. Their debut album Night Walks was ‘Album of the Month’ on BBC Radio 1 when it was released in September 2010.
Peasant’s King: Peasant’s King is a five-piece band from Pontypridd, forming in January 2012 after the breakup of a previous band. They uploaded their material to “BBC Introducing”, not really expecting anything much to happen. Miraculously, their song, ‘Antidotes’ was selected as the ‘Introducing Track of the Week’ for the last week of November and got play listed, gaining praise from the likes of Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe. Sonically, the band has been likened to Kings Of Leon, Vampire Weekend and Mumford & Sons. Their music is an infectious mix of grooves, riffs and melody with epic, intense soundscapes at the core.
The Clameens: The Clameens are one of the fastest rising prospects to emerge from the Northern Irish music scene in recent times. The band made up of four friends including a set of brothers have set a brand of honest and infectious indie pop rock which has pricked the ears of media & industry everywhere, with BBC Radio 1, 6Music MTV, RTE Other Voices and more all paying keen attention. Having recently been selected as one of MTV’s Unsigned bands of 2014, they’ve even supported acts such as The Strypes, Professor Green & Pete Doherty, as well as performed at the 2014 The Great Escape Festival, Liverpool SoundCity, MTV Crashes, Electric Picnic, recently performing at their label’s ( 25 hour Convenience Store ) showcase in London. The band are set to release their new EP in September with Tour plans set for UK & Ireland, with support slots for Wilko Johnson & Libertines penciled for the coming months.
Thumpers: Indie pop duo Thumpers have been on the fringes of the UK indie pop scene for a few years, putting out solid, hype-free releases that have addressed the same audiences as bands that they’ve toured with like Chvrches, MS MR and Two Door Cinema Club. The band released their debut studio album Galore in 2014 to critical acclaim.
