project:Albatross is an improvised music collective with a large wingspan. Bridging the distances between musicians from across the country, project:Albatross aims to bring musicians together to
explore original compositions, improvised music and jazz standards.
project:Albatross guitar duo is one avatar of project:Albatross in which nylon string guitarists Matthias Muller (7-string) and Nishad Pandey (6-string) perform repertoire of American and Latin jazz, ballads and Baroque-inspired improvisations in a contemporary guise. Their music is characterised by spontaneous interaction and collective improvisation, inspired by their mutual love for Indian classical music.
Aside from their work in the ?eld of jazz, both Matthias and Nishad perform individually with many of the foremost Indian classical musicians in India such as L. Subramaniam, Pt. Tanmoy Bose, Sivamani and Pt. Debashish Bhattacharya.
