Snareophobe (Chris Munky) is a forward thinking music producer & DJ with a reputation as an act that
never fails to blow up a crowd with high energy live sets. Taking influences from Jungle, Hiphop, Garage,
Breakbeat, Dubstep and Drum & Bass, mixing up heavyweight bass lines, scratching, samples, loops,
FX and mashing up tracks over 4 channels. Hosting & mc’ing on his own sets, Snareophobe is often
joined on stage by Dub Fx, Eva Lazarus, Lil Rhys & Mr Woodnote. Beatboxing, singing, rapping & live sax,
layers of twisted electronic music and vocal effects come as standard!

In , collaborations and remixes with Ill-Esha, Datsik, Ill Gates and Dub Mafia will be released imminently. Currently in the hills of Melbourne, Australia, he’s working on a new Snareophobe Ep,
the forthcoming Dub Fx album and planning a US summer tour. The debut self titled album was made in collaboration with Pete Fibre and releases have dropped on Functional Records, Ape Music and Dub Fx’s label Convoy UnLtd with support from the likes of Bassnectar, 6Blocc, Calvertron & Freq Nasty.

Playing an integral part in nurturing the bass music scene from its UK roots, and spreading it globally, Chris has dedicated his energy to 7 years of radio broadcasting, 10 years of his own club night “Sourpuss”, 5 UK club residencies, worked as a booking agent and coordinated youth & community music projects.
Chris hit the international touring circuit in 1999 in San Francisco and supported Dreadzone on their UK tour in 2006. He smashed 2011 to pieces with a string of shows throughout Asia, India, Europe and the UK. 2012 was packed with relentless touring through Europe & 3 months (40 shows) in Canada, USA
& Australia. From Bombay to Spain, ski slopes to Glastonbury, beach festivals to aircraft hangars, both as support and headline act, with original Snareophobe music.
