WTS NewsWTS NewsWTS NewsThe F16s play alternative dance music born out of frustration with a barren and flaccid cityscape. They write tales of love, redemption and the lives and concerns of young people like themselves and set them to music their listeners can dance to.
Their songs are heavy and euphoric, with a double guitar attack, drums, bass, synthesizers and a Macbook. While harnessing the sound of urban independent music, the group has stylistic leanings that cover a much wider palette including art-pop, ska and dance/punk.
‘Kaleidoscope’ is the band’s debut EP. Consisting of seven songs, the record acts as an effective acid test, laying the groundwork for an arresting live set.
The EP can be streamed in its entirety on the band’s SoundCloud page:https://soundcloud.com/
Plans are in motion for a full length follow-up to the EP. A release at the end of calendar year is on the cards.
Your Chin is the solo project of Raxit Tewari, front man of Mumbai based indie band Sky Rabbit – that’s been building a buzz in the Indian indie scene since releasing his first self titled EP mid 2012. The EP won the support of the scene’s dedicated fan base as well as rave reviews by music journalists. The momentum and the word of mouth helped Your Chin play a whole bunch of festivals and club dates through the rest of the year and the next one.
The journey started with Raxit’s love for bringing varied sounds together into a great composition. Your Chin has a danceable lively electro pop sound layered with muddy beats that lend his seemingly indecipherable urban lyrics a joyful complexity.
Your Chin released his second EP, Scatter Nature at the start of 2014 and embarked on a tour to support it in the following in the following months. Scatter Nature was a gradual progression of his sound and made more people sit up and take notice. It is more layered and handles themes darker and more mature than the first one.
Your Chin recently won the ‘Song of the year’ award at the VH1 Soundnation awards. He has opened for Grammy winner Gotye at the Oz Fest event in New Delhi at Blue Frog. Fall Someplace, a track from the EP was chosen as the promotional song for “A Summer’s Day” Festival headlined by Norah Jones in 2013. He has also performed at various festivals around India including NH7 Weekender, Magnetic Fields, Ziro Festival of Music, India Bike Week apart also being a regular at live gig venues across the country.

Their signature sound comes from the unique blend of an Acoustic guitar in the background of all songs with a monstrous distortion sound in the foreground. This mixed with some unbelievable percussion and vocals make it one of the most unique Punk sounds to come out of India.
