THE MELODIC SOUNDS OF EUROPE

Together these 5 magnificent musicians form what most of Western Europe now knows as The Human Evolution Project. With their first album (known as HE), being a sell out in countries like Spain, Portugal, Italy, Uk, Belgium and Netherlands the group is all set to enthrall Indian audiences with their magic. The cheerful band also aims performing commercial fusion music to add a punch to their performance for non-jazz listeners.

Shakir Khan is one of the most promising young exponents of the legendary Etawah Gharana, energetically following in the musical footsteps of his prodigious father and guru –the sitar maestro Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan. Shakir has performed brilliantly for prestigious music conferences in India including the Dover Lane Music Conference (Kolkata), SawaiGandharvamusic festival Pune, Bombay Festival (Mumbai), the TansenMusic Festival (Gwalior), the ShankarlalMusic Festival (Delhi) and has also performed extensively worldwide, bringing the joy and subtlety of the Etawah Gharana to audiences in the US, Canada and Europe –the latter including a performance at the famous Woodstock Festival in Poland.

Alberto Condeis a Galician Jazz pianist and composer. His creative style often combines elements of different genres, such asmuneira, buleria, waltz and jota being “World Jazz” as result. On his approach to Galician rhythms developed a particular style, the so-called “MuñeiraJazz”. Often proclaimed as the best Jazz Pianist in Europe, Alberto has performed with musicians like Scott Hamilton, Kenny Wheleer, Roy Hargrooveand Steve Brown. Founder member of theBaioEnsemble is a renowned teacher, composer, producer and has performed in every prestigious music festivals of Europe.

Xose is one of the main voices on saxophone in Spain and Portugal. In his professional career, Xose has already played in many notable events in several countries including “The London Jazz Festival BBC Radio 3? (UK), “Festival de Jazz de Guimaraes” (Portugal), “Festival de jazz Imaxinasons” (Galicia-Spain), “Vodicejazz festival” (Croatia), “Festival interceltiqueLorient” (France), “Portugal-jazz? (CCB Lisbon) and “GirandoPorSalas” (Spain), among many others. Xose is also one of the most renowned musicians within the folk and traditional music of Galicia, north-west of Spain.

B.O.U.L.E is a basically a (big) kid who started to produce hard core hip hop in 2002. But one day an old single from Jermaine Stewart saved his life. Since that moment he throwedaway all the hardcore bull shit and became a Funkdamentalist. B.O.U.L.E has taken the EDM scene of Spain and Portugal by storm with performances in Ibiza, Barcelona, Lisbon and Madrid.

VikasTripathi is alumni of Benaras Hindu University and a resident of the beautiful island of Vigo in Spain. He holds the prestige of being the only tablaplayer in the island of Vigo and has groomed himself into the ensemble of western musical genres like Jazz and blues. Vikashas performed all over Europe and South America and is also a defining part of this jazz-fusion project they all proudly call Human Evolution (HE).

An exciting new live music ensemble featuring floating personnel that includes some of the most accomplished local as well as international artistes. The band’s line up and repertoire for each Friday night is curated by renowned bass player and music producer Colin D’Cruz.
