Metal Night feat. The Down Troddence at Hard Rock Cafe, Hyderabad

Share

An Indian Folk/ Groove Metal band from Kannur. The band is now based in Bangalore. They are one of India’s fastest rising bands and are widely known for their debut album ‘How are you? We are fine, Thank you’, winning 8 awards at the annual Rolling Stone Metal Awards including best band and best album.

The Down Troddence has always been noted for its unique blend of conventional Thrash and Groove Metal with a heavy dose of traditional Kerala folk music elements and art forms such as Theyyam in particular. The band also incorporates a lot of traditional folk sounds and instruments in the form of ambient layers in their music. Rhythm structures used in their songs too are primarily inspired by folk music. Lyrically the band has a strong philosophy of talking about inequalities and injustices which are ever present in India’s social and political systems. A common theme in their music is the effort to project the voice of the under-privileged and down-trodden people.

It’s time we change that! TrulyMadly gives you an exclusive opportunity to ‘UnSingle’ on June 12th. Groove to the tunes of Nyk, hang out with interesting singles and who knows, you might just meet some potential matches! If you’re looking to UnSingle, we can think of no better place than to start.

DJ / DVJ and producer, NYK, aka Nikhil Sahni is a unique artist who has successfully brought together two seemingly disparate worlds. He is the man responsible for making audiences worldwide, wake up to what could best be termed a two-fold amalgam, of Bollywood beats and electronic dance music. Blending and transforming both traditional and unexpected sounds, he has synthesized and resynthesized the two in ways most artists won’t ever comprehend.

India’s Original Extreme Metal Fest is Back for it’s 7th Edition. Domination – The Deathfest was conceptualized in the year 2000 as a platform for the extreme metal talent in the country by Nitin Rajan & his band mates from Bombay’s first Death Metal band Morticide. In a scene dominated by ‘Rock Shows’ & the sporadic heavy metal in the 90s, Domination – The Deathfest got together extreme metal bands and fans from across the country, regularly and successfully for 4 editions from 2000 to 2003. Current flag bearers of metal in India like Kryptos, Demonic Resurrection, Exhumation have all played at the fest.

In 2014 the festival headed Hyderabad for the very first time along with traditional bastion Mumbai and featured 13 different bands from all over the country. The festival was a massive success, and a follow-up was imminent. This year, the festival will be louder, larger and more brutal than ever before. Featuring bands from across 4 states, the fest will bring various sub genres of death metal under the same roof. See you metalheads, there!
