Da High Cookout feat. Pinnochio’s Moment of Clarity & Skrat at High Spirits, Pune

Share

Time to get your energy levels pumping with two big acts at this Cookout! Skrat and Pinnochio’s Moment of Clarity are going to be killing it on stage and we want you to join us!

Skrat (intentionally misspelt to avoid copyright issues) is a creature so resolute that unfazed by its multiple near death experiences, goes after what it wants without a moments hesitation. But its not why we’re called ‘Skrat’. The name occurred to our drummer years ago during one of his many moments of whimsy.
It stuck.

A debut album, several live gigs, a few hiatuses, personnel alterations and a partial reinvention

later, Skrat is all geared up for the next adven- ture, and with our sophomore album ‘Bring Out The Big Guns’ we intend to travel to the ends of the earth looking for it.

The trio of Skrat consisting of T.T. Sriram on gui- tars and lead vocals, Tapass Naresh on the drums and Satish Narayanan on bass guitar – both pro- viding backup vocals that provide a simple, raw, homegrown perspective to loud guitars, catchy hooks and a whole lot of energy on and off stage.

Pinnochio’s Moment of Clarity

Gig-A-Bite feat. Neeraj Arya’s Kabir Cafe Live at Euriska, Pune

Share

Neeraj Arya (Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar) – The voice of Kabir in the contemporary scene, has been relentlessly researching and performing Kabir poetry across the country since the last 6 years. His rendezvous with Kabir began with watching the film – Had Anhad by Shabnam Virmani. Influenced by several folk Kabir artists like Prahladji Tippania and Mir Mukhtiar Ali, Neeraj applied his own musical sensibilities and pioneered a genre called Kabir Rock.

A powerhouse of energy, he charges up not just the crowds but also the rest who share the stage with him.

Mukund Ramaswamy (Violin) – Violin and his music knowledge that comes from playing professionally on stage since 12 years helps the band understand the nuances of music like the metronome, counterpoints, rhythm and melodic stuff…in short, he tackles those aspects in music that require a minimum IQ of 150 to comprehend. Yes, he is an engineer and brings in some method to our madness.

He owes everything he has learnt to his gurus – Sri. SV Ramachandran and Smt. Muthulakshmi Vedanarayanan.

Raman Iyer (Mandolin) – He began by learning the western scales and notation, but then moved on to Hindustani and Carnatic styles. He likes to experiment, and is not confined by boundaries. He learnt from the versatile Diwan Singh Dhami when in Mysore and later from Mr. Yusuf Sajjad in Mumbai.

After having worked in advertising for 7 years, he finally decided to take the plunge and pursue music.

Viren Solanki (Percussion/Tabla/Drums) – Watch this powerhouse switch gears with ease as Kabir moves from Reggae to Pop to Fusion. A student of Fazal & Taufiq Qureshi, Viren has been learning the Tabla since 8 years, but is never shy of trying out different percussions.

His father Shri.Charandas Solanki and uncle Shri. Vinod Solanki are accomplished folk singers and thus Viren was raised on a rich diet of Classical, Folk and Sufi
