Like in every single Alien Invasion movie, the hippies gathered with hope in their eyes, looking skyward, praying  for an escape from reality. This time however, the hippies wouldn’t get obliterated with large laser beams from space. Instead, they were given a glimpse into heaven, and it was delish! DJ Hardwell on 21st Sep hosted the biggest party Bangalore has ever seen. It was a three hour long set littered with high tempo beats, personal edits of popular house tunes and epic bass drops – the kind we have come to expect from this superstar. Sunburn Arena has bought some of the biggest names in EDM to India including Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii and Dash Berlin….

Robbert van de Corput has come a long way from being that quiet yet confident 16 yr old boy who on Dutch TV announced his ambitions of being the #1 DJ in the world some day. With his now signature style of electro house and a growing international fan base , DJ Hardwell ranked #6 in the year 2012 by DJ Mag is not too far from realizing that dream. You probably have heard at least one of his incredible singles Spaceman, The World or Apollo. You may even know some of his famous commercial remixes or less popular productions from the Revealed Volumes. Better yet, you might listen to his Hardwell on Air podcast. If you haven’t heard of him…

India has always been recognized worldwide as a land of festivals. Love them or hate them, none of us complain when we get that random holiday from work. DNA Networks, with their new project Sound Awake tried to add the Indian flavor to an already established concept – EDM festivals – which have been a major driver of music tourism in Europe and the Americas. DNA went all the way to secure some of the top international DJs who have a history of performing at the top EDM festivals and brand names with that one famous track separating them from the total unknowns. To their credit, being popular is not the same as being good,…

The air was rife with anticipation in Sunburn Arena, Bangalore on 30th March . Over 10,000 people had made the trek to Bharatiya City, which is fast becoming the venue of choice for headline concerts. The crowd watched as the sun set behind the gigantic Sunburn stage, grooving to the very commercial mixes ofl ocal heroes Rohit Barker and Nikhil Chinappa. The mood was set and it was time for magic. Having dropped the DJ prefix in 2009 with the launch of Kaleidoscope, Tiesto is the Batman of Electronic dance music. Ranked near the top for most of the DJ Mag polls, he has a Grammy nomination under his belt for Elements of Life. Tiesto also holds the crown for being the first and only…

We all have been to at least one terrible NYE party – one you knew was going to be horrible but your parents dragged you there anyway. And once you got there, you knew from the very first second why you didn’t want to go. E Zone on the 5th of May was exactly like that. You couldn’t put your finger on what was wrong – because there was so much that wasn’t right at what should have been an evening of celebration. However, it lasted only until Fatboy Slim came onstage. The sun was out with its scorching heat. There were hardly any people at the surprisingly spacious venue and it didn’t look like…
